My name is Dee McCown. I am 56 years old and a husband and father. My wife is school teacher and my daughter is graduating from high school in May and headed to college. She also wishes to be a school teacher. I was born in San Benito, Texas. I am a proud Texan. I graduated from Texas A & M University in 1987 and went straight onto active duty in the US Army Infantry. I spent 22 years in the service of my country as an Army Officer and then FBI Agent and Supervisor. I am a combat veteran. I’ve spent the last 14 years working in the field of global corporate security.

I am a man of faith and it defines my worldview and values. I have a number of good friends I keep up from time served in the Army and FBI. I sit on the Board of Directors of a non-profit called the Ranger Scholarship Fund. We raise scholarship money for the wives and children of Army Rangers. I served two tours in the 75th Ranger Regiment and have a soft spot in my heart for Ranger families given I understand the sacrifice they undergo when their husbands and fathers are deployed to combat.

I enjoy reading, working on my land in the country (where we hope to build a house one day) hunting, fishing, shooting, kayaking rivers, gardening and anything to do with the outdoors. I enjoy spending time with my wife on short vacations and sipping coffee while engaging in deep conversations (about life) with my daughter.

My father is 86 and in the mid stages of Alzheimer’s. He lives nearby and I take care of him. It’s a difficult task alone but it is my duty and I love him. I am a blessed man to whom God gives grace well beyond what I deserve.

I live to serve my God, family and my country although I fail often.
